The numbers below come from the carousels created inside ZapPost between June 15 and August 31, 2026: 4,032 in total, generated by small business owners in Brazil. These are creation records straight from the system, with no questionnaire in the middle. No individual customer data appears here, only the aggregate, in Brasília time. One limit: the sample shows people who use ZapPost and does not represent every small business in the country.
Four in ten carousels are born outside business hours
If content were an office-hours task, the records would stop at 6pm. They do not: 39% of the carousels were created before 8am or after 6pm. From 8pm to 10pm the pace stays close to mid-afternoon levels. Even the midnight-to-1am slot logs over a hundred creations.
| Time of day | Carousels created | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Morning (8am to 12pm) | 1,058 | 26% |
| Lunch and afternoon (12pm to 6pm) | 1,421 | 35% |
| Evening (6pm to midnight) | 1,036 | 26% |
| Overnight and early morning (midnight to 8am) | 517 | 13% |
What this says: the post does not get made during the workday, because during the workday the owner is serving customers. Content creation runs on rest time, and that is why it is the first thing cut in a busy week.
Tuesday is content day. Saturday is the day the app stays closed
Tuesday leads by a clear margin, followed by Wednesday and Thursday: the middle of the week concentrates production. Saturday has the lowest volume of the week, 374 creations, and the curious part is Sunday sitting above it at 465. The signature of people who assemble the week on Sunday night.
| Day | Carousels created |
|---|---|
| Monday | 589 |
| Tuesday | 743 |
| Wednesday | 672 |
| Thursday | 634 |
| Friday | 555 |
| Saturday | 374 |
| Sunday | 465 |
Half of all carousels have 4 slides
Of the 4,032 carousels, 51% have exactly 4 slides. Counting everything up to 6, the share reaches 87%. The 10-slide carousel, that marketing-guru standard, is 5% of the total. In practice, the format small businesses publish is: one hook, two or three developments, one closing slide with a CTA.
| Slides | Share of carousels |
|---|---|
| 4 slides | 51% |
| 5 slides | 20% |
| 6 slides | 14% |
| 7 to 9 slides | 8% |
| 10 slides | 5% |
For anyone building carousels by hand, that is relief with a number attached: the market's real ruler sits at 4 to 6 slides, well short of 10.
What to do with these numbers
- Stop waiting for the "right time" to create. It does not exist in the calendar of someone who serves customers all day. Either the content gets done in minutes, or it moves to 10pm, and in busy weeks, to nowhere.
- If Sunday night is your hour, build the whole week in it. That is what happened in the 465 carousels made on Sundays. A calendar like our ideas by profession helps to start from more than zero.
- A 4-slide carousel is complete. One well-sliced idea beats ten stretched slides.

Is creation time the same as posting time?
No. This study shows when business owners manage to produce, and says nothing about when audiences engage. The best time to post on Instagram depends on your audience, and creating ahead is what lets you post at that time.
