Android warned the app may have a virus, is it safe?

It is safe. The warning comes from Google Play Protect, which flags any app installed outside Google’s store. The app is official, made by our team, and is going through Android’s newest requirements. If you would rather not install it, use Studio in the browser, which is the same product.

Why the warning appears

Play Protect shows this alert for apps that did not come from the Play Store, until they finish meeting Android’s most recent security rules. It does not mean the app has a virus; it means Google has not yet marked it as checked. We are completing that process.

What to do

  • Want to install anyway: on the warning, tap “More details” and then “Install anyway” (the wording changes a little from one phone to another).
  • Prefer not to install: open studio.zappost.ai in your phone’s browser. It is the same Studio, with everything. You can even add an icon to the home screen without going through Play Protect: see do I need to install any app.
